Christian:
I've been a terrible Christian;
I've sinned against the Lord!
I want to give up everything;
Including reading the word.
Satan:
"You've been an awful person,
You've been stupid and unwise,
You're too bad to come to Jesus!"
Whispers Satan with his lies.
Christian:
Where will I find forgiveness
For everything I've done?
I know that God sent Jesus,
His only begotten Son.
Satan:
But surely you've been too wicked!
Even though you're born again,
Does God truly want to forgive
Vile and sinful men?
God answering the Christian:
You may have been a terrible Christian;
Yes, you've sinned against the Lord.
Remember who you are in Christ -
Come, turn and read the word!
God answering Satan:
My people may do awful things,
But I'm the Potter and they're the clay.
I am always working in their lives,
To purify them all one day.
God answering the Christian:
You will always find forgiveness
At the foot of the wooden cross,
Where Jesus took on all your sins
And cancelled out My wrath.
God answering Satan:
There are none too wicked
Who can find forgiveness there;
At the foot of the cruel cross
All their sins, Christ did bear
God to Christians:
So come, discouraged Christian,
Repent, and turn to Me!
Remember who you are in Christ,
You are His eternally!
