Coming to Pray (Original Poem)

We come into Your chamber, Lord,
With boldness as we pray.
Petitions brought before your throne
At any time of day.

Your ear inclined to those You love,
To those You call Your Bride.
A love so deep and tender -
To win Her, You had died.

You take our weakest, mumbled words,
Removing all the weeds,
And present our prayers, a sweet bouquet -
For us, You intercede.

You kiss us with Your richest grace.
Blessings and love abound.
Only eternal joy and peace -
In Jesus Christ are found.

Your kingly sceptre in Your hand
Bids Your people "Come!
Present Your prayers before My throne,
Through My Eternal Son."
