Your life felt so empty!
You needed a man
To fill up your heart
Like no other one can
You felt very lonely!
You wanted into his life!
Even though he was married
To a beautiful wife!
So you dressed in rich garments;
Put make-up on your face.
You wanted to steal him;
Take up his wife's place.
Adorning your hair
With oil and with jewels;
You thought you were safe
And that you were nobody's fool!
So in the light of the day,
You met up with this man!
You thought you were loved
By the touch of his hand!
Caught in the act,
There was nowhere to run!
The shame of being caught;
In the heat of the sun!
You knew what the score was,
When you set out to tempt!
The law says you must be stoned,
You are not exempt!
The Pharisees grabbed her
And brought her to the Son.
"In the law of the prophets,
Stoning must be done!"
Jesus, Son of Mary,
Wrote on the ground;
Not looking at the Pharisees,
Not making a sound!
The Pharisees kept asking,
Trying to trick,
But Jesus looked up calmly,
His answer was slick!
"He that is without sin among you,
Let him first cast a stone!"
Pricked by their consciences,
They made their way home!
He looked at the woman,
"Where are those who accuse?
Has no man condemned you?"
She said, with nothing to lose!
"No man, My Lord
Accused me, I am sure!"
"Neither do I condemn you!
Go and sin no more!"
