Jesus Seated in Heaven

 No Sacrifice

Atone for all

That man could ever give,

But Jesus Christ,

The Father's Son

Died that we might live

No work we do

Can win God's heart

For filthy rags we wear.

But Jesus Christ

The Father's Son

Keeps us in His prayers

No chair there was

For earthly priest,

Their work was ne'er complete

But Jesus Christ

The Father's Son

Sits on the heavenly seat!

Spiritual Clothes

How weak and flimsy,

Clothes of Adam,

Fig leaves from the tree,

But garment made of nature’s branch,

Will not avail for me.

Priestly garments,

Clothes of Aaron,

Worn by Levi’s kin

Garments made for only few,

Won’t rid me of my sin.

Richest purple

Clothes of David,

Made from mollusc shell,

But garment coloured with rare dye,

From sin, won’t make me well.

My own good deeds,

Like filthy rags

Torn by guilt and shame.

No human garment is enough

For me to take His Name.

How weak and bleeding,

Naked Man,

Hangs on Calvary’s tree.

The garment woven by His blood,

Is made to set me free.

How dark and cold –

No robes for Christ,

He’s bound in clothes for grave.

The Garment of Salvation’s formed

For those He died to save.

Now death has died!

The Son has risen!

Gold band around His chest,

Crown of glory on His head!

Entered His heavenly rest

How white and pure

My wedding clothes,

Fashioned on the tree.

This garment made from Jesu’s blood,

Forever avails for me
