The Journey - Easter 2018 Poem

From the glorious splendour of heaven
You came to your mother's womb,
To live a servant's life on earth
Your journey - an empty tomb.

From the adoration of angels rejoicing,
To a world full of sin, pain and loss;
A time of mock trial and scorning!
Your journey - a cruel wooden cross.

From the fellowship of Your dear Father
To a people in need of much pardon.
Such anguish, no joy, and deep sorrow
Your journey - a dark, lonely garden.

But rejoice in the journey of Jesus,
Without it our God would be hidden;
No salvation, no peace with the Father!
Rejoice Jesus Christ is now risen!

Cry out "Hosanna in the highest!"
For Jesus now sits on the throne.
His journey of pain and of sorrow
Was travelled that He would atone!

Be filled with great adoration,
For King Jesus rules all the globe!
He's trodden the paths of great suffering,
He's travelled the cold lonely road.

His life brings good news of salvation,
His death brings us peace with our God.
Give thanks to the Son of His Father
For life's weary road, He has trod!
